Our Story
The Lexington Commercial team has established a strong track record of achievement in the industry since 2015. In 2020, Lexington Commercial’s parent company, Lexington Partners, LLC, felt the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic when the majority of Downtown Hartford Connecticut’s retail space was left vacant, many of which sat at the ground floor of buildings Lexington owned or managed.
Lexington Commercial’s founder, Kevin Kenny, viewed this as an opportunity and saw Hartford as a blank canvas. Kevin’s goal was to reshape the ground level of downtown to help bring retail business back to Hartford and compete with the newer retail epicenters such as West Hartford and Glastonbury centers.
With the backing of the Principals at Lexington Partners, LLC, Kevin began making connections with local retail business owners and explaining his vision for Downtown Hartford and the opportunity it had for the community. It came to light that a major challenge for most businesses during the pandemic was funding. Kevin decided to explore a creative solution. After partnering with the City of Hartford and the Chamber of Commerce, the Hart-Lift Program was created as a grant for small businesses in which the city would match funds contributed by landlords and tenants, in an attempt to provide business owners the boost they needed to call Hartford home.
Two years later, the Hart-Lift Program proved to be a success, and we can proudly claim responsibility for 14 new businesses entering downtown Hartford and counting. After Kevin’s accomplishment in the revival of Downtown Hartford, calls trickled in with other opportunities in the commercial real estate arena and a gap was revealed; innovation and technology implementation in traditional real estate brokerages was missing.
It was an easy decision, Lexington Commercial was launched, backed by broker of record, Joseph R. Beaudoin. Rounding out the team, Joseph A. DeLuca, longtime friend of Kevin and all-around business savant, was brought on to help modernize and scale up operations. Coming full circle with Marty Kenny’s original brokerage, NAI Lexington Properties from the early 90’s, the team decided it was in the best interest of the company’s success to join forces once again with NAI Global.
NAI Global is a leading commercial real estate firm powered by the largest organization of independent commercial real estate brokers and is ranked as the #4 commercial real estate brand in the world. Aligning with NAI’s global reach, local market expertise and comprehensive suite of services, will allow Lexington Commercial to maintain speed and accuracy while providing access to lucrative markets through an unparalleled client experience. As of 2023, we are now NAI Lexington Commercial.
